Sound Bath
Sound healing is a therapeutic practice for deep relaxation of the nervous system. The vibrations produced by singing bowls work to reduce stress and balance the energy within our bodies. Most people seeking a sound bath experience do so to relax their minds and induce a meditative state. What many don’t realize is just how powerful and far reaching the mental and physical benefits of sound healing can be.
Sound healing impacts the body by using vibrational frequencies to promote healing at a physical, emotional, and energetic level. These frequencies cause brainwaves to shift to slower, more relaxed states like Alpha and Theta. When you can access these meditative brainwaves, the mind shifts from overactive and stressed to calm and intuitive. The subconscious mind becomes more accessible, making it a powerful state for clarity and transformation. In turn, the physical body relaxes, cortisol levels lower, and you can truly experience the healing that occurs when the mind and body are deeply connected.
Another fact to consider is that the human body is composed of up to 70% water. Water is an excellent conductor of sound waves. When we’re exposed to the vibrations of singing bowls, the frequencies travel very efficiently through the body, creating an internal massage that can penetrate deep into tissues and cells. At this cellular level, sound wave resonance can help stimulate the immune system, circulation, lymphatic drainage, and even cerebrospinal fluid around the brain and spine, improving overall flow of blood, fluid and energy.
People often focus on physical fitness but neglect mental fitness, even though it plays a huge role in our overall well-being. We train our bodies to stay strong and healthy, but the mind also needs regular exercise and treatment to stay sharp, resilient, unburdened and focused. A strong mind through mediation helps with emotional regulation, stress management, and definitely physical health.
So many people would like to meditate but don’t know how or where to begin. Begin by attending a sound bath! We invite you into our peaceful space to rest comfortably and experience the deep stillness that comes from our unique sound healing therapy.
Vibrations from Quartz Crystal and Tibetan singing bowls produce complex sound waves with deep overtones. These harmonious frequencies travel through the body and guide the brain into a deep meditation. There, you might see colors and dream like imagery as brainwaves shift. Some people experience emotional release such as feelings of joy, letting go of the past, and relief. The body’s meridians are cleared and balanced during this group setting of deep connection to mind, body, and soul.
Pure Therapy group sound healing sessions are held twice a month following the lunar schedule. Space is limited. Call to reserve your spot.

Sound Bath Etiquette
Sound baths at Pure Therapy are meditative sessions focused on relaxation, group energy, and healing. Here is some basic etiquette to keep in mind.
Arrive Early. Arriving 10-15 minutes before the session begins allows you to choose a comfortable spot, settle in, and minimize distractions for others.
Be fragrance-free. Please avoid wearing any fragrances, including essential oils. We maintain a neutral environment, as different fragrances bother others and make it impossible to relax completely. Again, no fragrances please.
Turn off your phone. Store your phone away so you can focus on the experience and avoid disrupting the session for everyone.
Please don’t touch the bowls. We know it’s hard, but please admire the bowls from a distance only.
Be Respectful of Space and Quiet. Stay inside your space and don’t talk once the session begins. This is a shared space so please be mindful of others and maintain quiet.
Dress Comfortably. Avoid anything too tight or restrictive so you’re comfortable and not distracted.
Breathe Deeply. The breath is the way into the mind, so try to focus on breathing and relax your body.
Stay hydrated. Arrive hydrated for best results. Make sure to use the rest room beforehand so you can focus on the experience.
Avoid alcohol, caffeine and other recreational drugs. Try to avoid alcohol, caffeine and other drugs on the day of the sound bath to achieve optimal connection for a healing experience.
Be receptive. Try to be open to the experience, even if you have doubts.
Don’t suppress your emotions. Trust thoughts, images and emotions as they surface.
Respect the Silence Afterward. Once the sound bath ends, it’s common to share your experience if you wish. It is also perfectly fine to reflect privately if you choose.
Other considerations:
To maintain a meditative atmosphere for the group, please be physically able to sit or lye still for 40 minutes. If you need to adjust, do so quietly and gently. If you cannot attend a sound bath due to a restless body or other issues that might distrupt the group, please inquire about a private session.
If you snore, try lying on your side to reduce the disruption in case you fall asleep. If you have back problems, try putting something under your head or knees. If you have specific needs, let us know before you sign up.
Thank you!
